Rotary Hydraulic Actuator
The rotary hydraulic actuator is designed to be directly integrated into robotic joints, offering high mechanical rigidity and strong torque output. It is compact yet high-powered, making it ideal for use in hydraulic robotic systems. Compared to conventional systems composed of motors and harmonic drives, this actuator can achieve approximately 10 times higher load-to-torque ratio. Depending on the application, sensors with different resolutions(12 to 19 bits) can be attached to provide the required precision and performance characteristics. Additionally, by incorporating servo valves, the actuator delivers excellent control performance.
The rotary hydraulic actuator offers the advantage of being easily inserted between two links, enabling precise and powerful motion without the need for additional components such as bearings or reducers. Its high precision makes it ideal not only for robotic applications, but also for a wide range of industrial applications.
The actuator is available in two types: single vane and double vane, and comes in standard models with various torque capacities — 100 Nm(885 in-lbs), 300 Nm(2,655 in-lbs), 500 Nm(4,425 in-lbs), and 1,000 Nm(8,851 in-lbs). In addition to standard models, custom designs are available to meet specific requirements for torque capacity and external dimensions. Single-vane actuators offer a wider rotational range, while double-vane actuators deliver higher torque output. Due to the internal pressure being balanced on both sides of each vane, double-vane actuators are generally more compact than single-vane types and exhibit less friction and internal leakage. These characteristics make rotary actuators highly versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications.
