Teleoperated Hydraulic Robot for Steelworks

The “Teleoperated Hydraulic Robot for Steelworks” is an innovative robot and designed to safely manipulate heavy-duty objects in high-temperature environments within steelmaking blast furnaces. This innovative robot enables remote operation in extreme conditions, where molten metal expulsion poses significant hazards. Previously, manual removal tasks by workers in irregular intervals were commonplace in these hazardous environments. With the introduction of this robot, remote operators can now safely handle high-temperature and heavy materials from a distance. Incorporating recent advancements in remote control technology, we are planning to expand its application to larger steelmaking facilities.

The robot is designed to perform high-temperature operations seamlessly in the extreme ironmaking process, working in front of molten metal at 1,500°C. For remote operation, the mobile platform is powered by a 113Ah battery, ensuring reliable performance in hazardous environments. Additionally, the integrated robotic arm features 6+1 degrees of freedom(DOF), enabling precise maneuverability in complex operations. The robot's end effector is engineered to handle high loads of up to 180kgf, with a capability of 80kgf at the tip when using a 1.7m tool, ensuring robust performance in demanding industrial applications. The robot's mobile platform features a maximum travel speed of 4 km/h and supports multiple driving modes, including 4WIS, crab, and diamond configurations, ensuring adaptability for various operational environments.

This robot is designed to operate reliably in high-temperature and high-dust environments, ensuring stable performance under extreme conditions. With its extended tool reach, it enables efficient handling of heavy loads, optimizing industrial operations in challenging environments. Equipped with remote operation capabilities, this robot offers intuitive and easy control for efficient handling. Its 4 wheel independent driving mechanism enables effective maneuverability even in confined spaces, ensuring optimal performance in challenging environment. This hydraulic robot, developed for the harsh environment of iron-making plants such as blast furnaces, not only ensures safe operation but also has the potential to significantly enhance productivity and efficiency.
